Status, History, Issues and UpdatesThis “course” began life as the “Kinetics and Reaction Engineering Toolkit for Exceptional Teaching” (KaRE TExT). It had 63 study units, but most were not complete. Some only had informational and illustrational readings, others had both readings and videos. Most also had a pre-class quiz and a set of review slides. Less than half had lesson plans and learning activities for instructors to use in class. In this version, renamed “A First Course on Kinetics and Reaction Engineering” (AFCoKaRE), the informational content has been re-organized into 40 study units, which falls closer to the number of class meetings in a typical university semester where class meets three times per week. All 40 units have a complete set of readings and videos along with pre-class quiz questions, learning activities, slides for in-class use and a lesson plan. Many units still lack practice problems. These will be added continually for the foreseeable future. By the end of 2016 every unit is expected to have at least one practice problem, with more to be added. Known Issues
